This stately home was built during the1920’s and for many years it was the home of T.D. and Emma Griley. Mrs. Griley donated the home to become the Baltimore Library. The library was housed on the first floor and the second floor became apartments. During it’s infancy, the museum was housed in the basement. The library soon became too small and a new library was build next door. The Griley House then became part of the Baltimore Community Museum. A new building was constructed for the museum in 1984 and the Baltimore Community Museum now uses the Griley House for special events and rentals.
